Remember, in 2017, when “White Shark” Greg Norman – world legendary golfer, “Golf of the Century”, designer, philanthropist, golf goodwill ambassador, appeared on video promoting Vietnam tourism, with a familiar hat and smile, he said: “People often come to Vietnam for the scenery, culture and food. I came here for all of that, but more than that to play at one of the best golf courses in the world.”
That’s when followers of this elite sport understand that Vietnam’s golf tourism has transformed into a new, more professional and classy page, no longer in a state of hidden beauty.
The proof is that right after that, at the World Golf Awards, considered the “Oscars of the tourism industry”, Vietnam was honored as “The world’s best golf destination” for 2 years (2019, 2021). and for 5 consecutive years as “Asia’s Best Golf Destination” since 2017. The World Golf Awards (WGA) also emphasized: “Vietnam is where the golf market is reviving.”
Continuously being rated as the best golf destination in Asia and the world has given Vietnam’s green economy many advantages to attract followers of this elite sport. And as “White Shark” Greg Norman commented, although they are behind compared to Thailand and Malaysia, Vietnamese golf courses have many advantages because they are beautiful, new, diverse in terrain, and they were many famous golfers in the world designed. Many courses are not inferior to golf courses in Japan and can operate all year round, instead of having to close in winter like Japan.
Moreover, the world legendary golfer also affirmed that the quality of golf courses in Vietnam is increasingly improving with well-invested, large-scale projects, true to the quality of a “golf resort”, to serve 5-star, even 6-star resort needs of high-class customers.
To achieve that, it is impossible not to mention the investment of “big guys”, typically BRG Group – a pioneer in this field. Investing in golf since the 2000s, BRG Group has always advocated cooperation with “giants” in the world to quickly shorten the gap between Vietnamese and global golf. Currently, BRG Group owns and operates 7 expensive golf courses with 127 world-class golf holes.
Most recently, BRG Danang Golf Resort golf course was honored by Golf Digest Magazine in the Top 100 best golf courses in the world in 2022 and became the host of the Asian golf tournament “BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2022”.
That reality shows that Vietnam has full potential and opportunity to become the “golf paradise” of Asia, even the world.
Golf courses in Vietnam are of good quality and class, all designed by world-famous golfers, with differences based on advantages in terrain characteristics and natural and cultural resource values to attract tourists who love to conquer many unique golf courses, many challenges and different experiences, in beautiful locations, attached to resorts spread across the North, Central and South.
Vietnam, the world’s best golf tourism destination!
