Mu Cang Chai Introduction
Mu Cang Chai is a highland district of Yen Bai province, located nearly 300 km from Hanoi to the Northwest, Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai is a favorite destination of nature lovers and enjoy the highland atmosphere.

– May-June: The season of flooding water

When the summer rains begin to pour water down the mountains, the water is led from the mountains into the terraced fields. Water flooded the fields, making the arid soil softer and swollen so that people could transplant rice.
This is also the time when people start to plow the fields to prepare for a new crop. Therefore, in the northern mountainous terraces, rice can only be grown in one crop.
The slick terraces in the afternoon sun create a beauty that makes many visitors surprised.
– September, October: The season of ripe rice

Every September and October every year, the rice is ripe, dyed throughout the Northwest mountainous region in bright colors, rich autumn colors. At this time, all of Mu Cang Chai will be bright yellow with a color of rice. The weather is nice and convenient to visit here.

1 – Tu Le town: Considered a tourist destination not to be missed when traveling to Mu Cang Chai, coming here, you will admire the terraced fields stretching in yellow and green. When you come here you can visit Lim Thai and Lim Mong villages about 3km away and see the stilt houses on both sides of the road.
2- Khau Pha Pass: Is one of the four greatest pass in the North and is one of the longest pass with over 40km. On the Khau Pha pass, there is often cloud cover to the sky. Pass bend the amount of zigzag around the mountain range, alternating between the great forests.
3 – La Pan Tan terraced fields: The most terraced fields in Mu Cang Chai with 700 ha of terraced fields. With cascading terraced fields, layers spread across the hill, especially here are the famous raspberry shape fields and attract tourists to visit and take pictures.
4 – Lim Mong village: Cao Pa commune, Mu Cang Chai district-Yen Bai has been hiding in the clouds for ages. In the past, the locals used to whisper to each other in the northwest because of the difficulty of the road and also because it was the place … the end, and Lim Mong was one of them, full of inviting energy and also challenging.
5 – Che Cu Nha: A commune of Mu Cang Chai district, located about 7km from the center of the district towards Hanoi, the road to this commune is quite steep and difficult to access, not suitable for first-time visitors.
6 – Pu Nhu waterfall: Located in Pu Nhu village, La Pan Tan commune, Mu Cang Chai district, about 10km west of the center of Mu Cang Chai district. Originated from streams in the watershed forests coming from Than Uyen (Lao Cai), the waterfall has a height of about 20m of water divided into several steps.

7 – Mo waterfall: Located between two hills Na Hang A and Na Hang B in Mo De commune (Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai) .In the journey to conquer Mo waterfall there are 7 impressive points for you to stop and reward breathtaking.
From Highway 32, walk about 30 ′ to the base of the waterfall, continue from here you will come to the point of a cascade waterfall where the water flows in a spiral. To reach the next 4-storey waterfall point you need to continue walking upstream of the waterfall, this is also the most impressive place for you to save beautiful images of Mo Waterfall.
8 -Thai village: Cross the bridge in the center of the district (toward Che Tao) and turn left for about 1km to reach Thai village. A small, peaceful village in the middle of the valley, leaning against the mountain.
Coming here, you can enjoy Thai specialties, take a bath of traditional folk method of the Thai people, rest at the stilt house and organize social exchanges and bonfires.
9 – Lung Lo Pass: On the side of Yen Bai adjacent to Son La in the same scene. This 15 km long pass on Highway 37, during the anti-French war, was one of the roads supplying ammunition and food for the Dien Bien campaign. Since then, the road has gradually been forgotten, especially when the Khe Pass connecting Yen Bai with Son La was opened.
