6:00 AM: The driver and guide will pick you up at the hotel to commence the journey to Yên Tử.
8:30 AM: Arrival at Yên Tử, where you’ll embark on the ascent to the summit, standing at an elevation of 1068 meters. Starting from the mountain’s base, you’ll follow a road alongside the “Suối Giải Oan” stream. According to legend, when King Trần Nhân Tông left the palace to practice asceticism here, the palace concubines came to plead for his return. Despite their efforts, the king refused to return, leading the concubines to jump into the stream and meet their demise. Out of compassion, the king built a temple next to the stream and named it the “Chùa Giải Oan” (Redemption Temple).
Next, you’ll explore the ancestral tower, where relics of Phật Hoàng Trần Nhân Tông are preserved. Gain a deeper understanding of the king’s life, the establishment of the Trúc Lâm Zen School, and further insights into Vietnamese history and culture.
Visit the single-roofed pagoda, Hoa Yên Pagoda. These ancient and revered pagodas are integral to the existence and development of the Trúc Lâm Zen School, showcasing unique traditional architecture.
The journey continues to the statue of An Kỳ Sinh, concluding at Đồng Temple. This temple, crafted from a single bronze block, is the largest of its kind in Vietnam and sits atop the sacred Yên Tử mountain. Here, you’ll marvel at the vast expanse of the Dong Trieu mountainous region and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this spiritually significant northern Vietnamese land.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in the Yên Tử area, featuring dishes rich in the flavors of the Yên Tử mountain region.
Afterwards, you will descend the mountain, visit the exhibition house showcasing artifacts and providing insights into the history, development, and cultural significance of the Trúc Lâm Zen School in Vietnam.
